Background
The international community today faces not only wars and conflicts, but also hatred, discrimination, and social divisions in their many forms. Women’s roles and participation in realizing sustainable peace have never been more vital.
Peace is more than the absence of war — it is a value we experience and practice every day, in our homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. This everyday peace is the driving force that builds a sustainable future of peace.
Under the vision of ‘A Sustainable Future of Peace Built by All Women’, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) has carried out wide-ranging initiatives — empowering women, cultivating peace leaders, advancing peace education, and fostering international cooperation — so that women can fulfill their role as the true subjects of peace. IWPG continues to build a global platform connecting local and international communities to spread a lasting culture of peace.
Conference Purpose
“Everyday Peace, Women’s Power:
Shaping Global Governance”
Women leaders, peace activists, youth, civil society representatives, and partner organizations from around the world will gather to share the experiences and capabilities of women who have grown through peace education — and to explore new directions for peace through diverse stories of practicing peace in daily life and in conflict zones.
Grounded in peace education and capacity-building, the conference will amplify women-centered peace leadership and collectively design a sustainable peace governance framework through international solidarity and cooperation — establishing itself as a global platform for a sustainable future of peace built by all women.
The Change We Envision
Strengthening Peace Networks and Global Solidarity
By expanding mutual exchange and cooperation among domestic and international peace activists, women leaders, partner organizations, and civil society, we will build a sustainable international peace network and reinforce the foundation for global solidarity.
Spreading Women-Centered Peace Leadership and Building Capacity
By sharing the experiences and best practices of women leaders and providing opportunities for capacity-building, we will lay the groundwork for women to actively serve as agents of peace in local and global communities.
Spreading a Sustainable Culture of Peace
Through participatory programs that let people experience and practice peace via education, culture, exchange, and solidarity, we will strengthen the spread of a peace culture and the foundation for civic engagement.
Expanding International Cooperation and Joint Initiative Frameworks
Through exchange with partner organizations, we will strengthen mutual cooperation frameworks between domestic and international institutions and lay the groundwork for advancing joint initiatives across diverse fields.
Building Shared Understanding and Spreading a Commitment to Peace
By sharing stories of choosing peace in everyday life and practicing peace in conflict and crisis situations, we will build social consensus around the value of peace and spread a deeper commitment to living it.
